The state’s Department of Business and Economic Development has announced the finalists of the 2015 InvestMaryland Challenge.
The latest announcement brings the list of startups remaining in the competition down from 46 to 12. It started with 214. Seven of the 12 finalists are from the Baltimore area.
Companies are grouped into four categories. A winner will be announced in each category. They’ll receive $100,000 from the Maryland Venture Fund, and may also receive other benefits like consulting services, incubator spaces at the Army Research Lab and opportunities to pitch investors like NAV.VC and Camden Partners.
The winners will be announced at an April 28 event at the Maryland Science Center.
