Local social impact incubator SEED SPOT is hosting another Impact Entrepreneur Meet-Up on Jan. 17.

The organizations hosts these events on the third Friday morning of every month, and each session lasts 90 minutes and features workshops. The next Impact Entrepreneur Meet-Up will be held at the Booz Allen Hamilton Innovation Center at 901 15th St. NW. Programming kicks off bright and early at 8:30 a.m.

Attendees at the next Impact Entrepreneur Meet-Up will hear from Katie Wrenn, a lead associate at Booz Allen Hamilton, on challenges founders face in “today’s data-driven world,” per the org. With a master’s of science in industrial and organizational psychology, Wrenn has six years of experience in “partnering with organizations to develop transformational data science training programs and analytics strategies.” At the event, she will also share tips on how entrepreneurs can implement data into their venture’s operations.

SEED SPOT added the monthly meetup to its portfolio of programming, which focuses on increasing access to resources for social impact entrepreneurs, tech leaders and future startup founders, back in September.

“We leverage national and local experts to guide the founders and mentors through an actionable curriculum and encourage collaboration,” SEED SPOT CEO C’pher Gresham told Technical.ly. “We have seen an uptick in the number of entrepreneurs that now have access to a community of likeminded founders to forward their dreams.”

Gresham said these events generally bring out up to 40 entrepreneurs, who have shared with him that they enjoy the morning sessions to avoid interrupting their busy days or evenings.

“Founders have expressed significant gratitude for having an ongoing series to support their ventures and have been able to join a national network of changemakers,” said Gresham.

SEED SPOT is also exploring local and national partnerships to help support underrepresented founders and impact areas in the region, such as wellness, education and environmental sustainability, the CEO said.

“We are doubling down on our outreach — we know there are founders working in their basements, studio apartments, coffee shops, and universities without the community, mentors and support networks,” Gresham said. “We want to make sure those founders have a community through the SEED SPOT programs and the Impact Entrepreneur Meet-Up.”

The organizations also hosts 2-Day Launch Camps and its 11-week Impact Accelerator, which has a presence in D.C., Phoenix, Santa Barbara, Seattle and Philadelphia. You can also meet the next D.C. accelerator’s cohort of social impact entrepreneurs at SEED SPOT’s Impact Accelerator Kickoff on Jan. 30 at the Booz Allen Hamilton Innovation Center.
