Tech in Motion’s fifth annual D.C. Timmy Awards on Oct. 10 brought together the #dctech community to honor some tech leaders and companies in the region.
The celebration took place at Capital One in Tysons, Virginia, and was hosted by local comedian Dan Kapr. The night was filled with interactive demos from local tech companies, including Brightline Interactive’s VR experience, and Capital One’s EventsPLUS mobile app.
The Timmy Awards were created by Jobspring Partners and Workbridge Associates, part of the Motion Recruitment Partners network.
“What’s great about the D.C. tech community is that our local talent is solving real world problems through lasting innovation and impact,” said Motion Recruitment VP Del Crockett in a statement. “The DMV has been attracting and developing one of the most talented and diverse IT work forces in the nation the last decade, validated not only by large enterprise corporations planting roots in the area, but also a thriving startup scene backed by significant venture investments.”
A panel of judges hit the stage at the event to present individual awards in four categories: Best Tech Manager, Best Tech Startup, Best Tech Work Culture and Best Tech Workplace for Diversity. New this year, two awards were given out in each category: a judge’s choice and a community favorite.
