Fishtowner Conrad Benner, of Streets Dept fame, was tapped by a newly launched photography printing service called Prints.ly to be part of its initial cohort of featured artists.
Benner joins well-established photographers like Ami Vitale, John Stanmeyer and Maggie Steber on the service’s Top 100 list, which allows users to purchase museum-quality prints of their favorite images.
EXCITED to announce I've been selected to join a handful of photographers from across the world to launch @printsly: https://t.co/LlM92Akw8z pic.twitter.com/F0YoDrTZLx

“For me it was a dream, not only because I got to join the ranks of truly some of the world’s biggest photography rockstars, but also because printing and shipping myself was taking its toll on me,” Benner told Technical.ly in an email. “I had been selling prints for about a year now, and it’s so much work.”
Though Benner declined to comment exactly what percentage Prints.ly charges artists, he did say it was a better deal than trying to print, ship, frame and do customer service on his own.
“To be grouped with these world-renowned photographers is just humbling, honestly,” Benner said.
The company, based in Seattle, Wash., and Buenos Aires, Argentina, was launched last week and is led by former Amazon developer Kevin Jaspa.
