Edtech startup Citelighter is relocating to Baltimore from New York City.
Cofounder Saad Alam moved to Baltimore in October and has been working from Federal Hill-based incubator Betamore. The remaining five New York City-based employees will be moving to Baltimore in early 2014.
Citelighter, which helps students write bibliographies and citations for term papers, among several other features, was “drawn” to Baltimore by the city’s “growing cluster of education technology companies,” according to the Baltimore Business Journal.
As Technical.ly Baltimore has reported, Baltimore city is routinely promoted as an edtech hub. The Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore has said “no region is better positioned for the launch of a new EdTech company.”
