The latest news from realLIST honoree startup Blackfynn is a revamped partnership with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
The two institutions had already connected for a year-long pilot application of Blackfynn’s data analytics platform for neuroscience research. That period has now been extended to an indeterminate amount of time.
According to the renewed agreement, the system will also be used by both CHOP and the Children’s Brain Tumor Tissue Consortium (CBTTC) to “bring together complex non-identifiable patient data for collaboration and analysis” for pediatric brain cancer research.
Though founder Amanda Christini declined to comment on the financial detail she did say the partnership now allows for an expanded use of the platform, including multiple vertients of data.
“We are thrilled to expand our relationship with CHOP, whose commitment to enabling translational research through collaboration and data access inspires us every day,” said Christini in a press release. “We share their core belief that transformational discovery will only occur when experts can effectively use the vast amounts of disparate, complex data generated in research. Blackfynn’s Data Platform will fundamentally enable this goal.”
