As of Q2 2013, Comcast and Lockheed Martin were two of the biggest employers in the Philadelphia region, according to state data.

Comcast and Lockheed Martin were two of the biggest employers in the Philadelphia region as of the second quarter in 2013, according to state data. Both employers showed up multiple times on the five lists of the biggest employers in each Philadelphia-area county.

Things haven’t changed too much since 2012: Comcast ranked high on the state’s multiple lists of biggest employers in Philadelphia and its surrounding counties back then, as well.

The same goes for the other employers on the list. Not much has changed since 2012 when it comes to the region’s biggest employers, though we did note that:

  • Philadelphia-based GlaxoSmithKline jumped from #29 to #24.
  • Chester County-based IBM jumped from #38 to #17.
  • Chester County-based Agora Cyber Charter School (#36) also made the list this year but did not last year.
