Social impact incubator SEED SPOT has opened applications for its spring 2020 Impact Accelerator program.

The program will run from Jan. 27 to April 24, and accepted social entrepreneurs will gain in-depth support for scaling and attracting investment opportunities. The program will meet twice a week, when founders will work on building high-growth business models, learn how to scale their teams and strategies and build investor relationships. The accelerator includes an invite-only pitch event, where founders will be able to present their ventures to a group of investors.

“Through the Impact Accelerator, entrepreneurs are able to concentrate on the growth of their impact-driven startup, meet investors, and ultimately see their venture scale to make more positive change in the world,” SEED SPOT CEO C’pher Gresham said in a statement. “By investing in the greater Washington, DC impact economy, we will be able to help solve regional and global issues.”

The accelerator will be culminated by a community-wide Demo Day at the Woolly Mammoth Theater on April 14. Each founder will pitch their venture for a chance to win cash and other in-kind prizes. Unlike many other accelerators, founders retain 100% equity when participating in SEED SPOT’s Impact Accelerator.

SEED SPOT reports serving 557 social entrepreneurs across the U.S., including at its program in Phoenix, Santa Barbara, Seattle and Philadelphia, and 75% of these entrepreneurs identify as underrepresented founders.

The early consideration deadline is on Wednesday, Oct. 2. Applicants who meet this deadline are guaranteed an interview with the selection committee. Applications will still be accepted until the final deadline on Nov. 1.

This announcement comes after the prominent social incubator announced a new program, the Impact Entrepreneur Meet-Up. With this program, SEED SPOT will host 90-minute monthly events focused on increasing access to resources for social impact entrepreneurs, tech leaders and future startup founders. The first meetup is set for Friday, Sept. 20, at the Booz Allen Hamilton Innovation Center.
