The accelerator program run by Emerging Technology Centers is once again set to award one startup an additional $100,000 in 2017.
Accelerate Baltimore applications are set to open from Oct. 12-Dec. 1. The four-month program provides six selected startups with $25,000 in funding, along with office space, programming and access to mentors. At the end of the program, companies pitch investors to win the additional $100,000. Funding is provided by the Abell Foundation.
ETC Assistant Director Jackie Albright said the program is seeking pre-revenue companies that are “passionate about the problem they are solving and can make $125,000 go the farthest.”
In 2016, mybestbox won the additional funding and has since moved into a new space in West Baltimore.
Ahead of the accelerator, ETC has also been holding the Pioneer Baltimore program to help startups turn ideas into companies.
