Get ready! The fourth annual Delaware Innovation Week (#DIW18) is happening Nov. 2–10, 2018.
If you’re new to DIW, it’s a Technical.ly-organized week of events that includes our Delaware Dev and Business conferences as well as community-organized events. Basically, it’s Delaware’s own Philly Tech Week (which is also a Technical.ly-organized effort).
The DIW18 Business Conference is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 6 (we know this is Election Day — don’t worry, we’ll make sure everyone has the chance to exercise their right to vote before or after). Biz Con will be packed with valuable information, panels and networking on the following:
- Leveling Up: A panel discussion on workforce development, and helping each other grow personally and professionally in the community.
- Delaware’s BIG Businesses: A panel discussion led by Michelle Morin, the executive director of the state’s Office of Supplier Diversity. The focus will be on innovation in BIG business and where they need help from their vendor relationships and new innovation points in their supply chains.
- Speed Networking: Think speed dating, but for that business connection, and less stressful. Pack your business cards, people!
This event is free.
RSVPOur big event is the DIW18 Dev Conference, taking place Nov. 7 at Delaware Technical Community College’s Wilmington campus. This is a full day of dev workshops and talks. Speakers will be announced soon, but there is still time to get involved to speak and, of course, sponsor.
After a light breakfast and tactical workshops (to be announced), here are the topics of what you can expect at the day’s Dev Talks (which are followed by a happy hour, just fyi):
- Machine learning
- Blockchain
- Cloud technologies
This event is also free.

Some of the events being planned by members of the community include a Women in Digital event, the OpenBracket coding competition and a youth pitch event sponsored by Urbinvest and NCC Innovates.
