Editor’s Note: Every week we ship an email newsletter featuring the region’s most exciting career opportunities. We’ve lovingly called it This Week in Jobs (aka TWIJ (“twidge”) here at Technical.ly HQ). Below is this week’s edition. (Here’s the last one we published on the site (it’s meant to live in your inbox).)

Get Pumped

When you’re in a funk and the job hunt’s wearing you down, let yourself find inspiration in what is possibly the most moving piece of art our fine city has ever seen: the Eagles 2018 hype video. Its motivational powers transcend football, reminding us that underdogs will have their day and that being a little insane is OK.

Seriously, it works for almost every situation:

  • Nervous before networking? Fire that baby up.
  • Unmotivated to write another cover letter? Turn Black Thought’s silky-voiced manifesto up to eleven.
  • Tired of getting calls from your boss? Make that bad boy your ringtone.

Now get up and fly, slugger. THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING!

To the news!

The Headlines

NeuroFlow, the Center City startup that tracks biometric data for mental health professionals, just raised another $1.2 million bucks from angel investor group NJ JumpStart. With the new funds, NeuroFlow plans to expand on its technology and increase its staff.

The Greater Philadelphia Veteran Network (GPVN) is hosting its sixth annual Veteran Shark Tank event on Dec. 5 — a competition which, coincidentally, NeuroFlow won in 2016. At this year’s event, GPVN will invest $25,000 in veteran-owned businesses (which can apply to pitch at the event here by Oct. 10) as part of its ongoing effort to provide career and entrepreneurship opportunities for people with military backgrounds.

And in more funding news, Group K Diagnostics just earned $800,000 to expand its team and continue clinical trials for its point-of-care diagnostics technology. CEO Brianna Wronko knows how to shake off the specter of discredited biotech startup Theranos while on the funding hunt: “They weren’t built on science. It was a fairy tale with no real tech inside it. That’s where we really differ.”

The Jobs

Operations and Project Managers, get your to-do lists ready:

Senior Engineers, you’re in demand:

Baltimore, the jobs are calling:

  • Emerging Technology Centers, an incubator that promotes economic growth in the city of Baltimore, is hiring an Assistant Director.
  • Digital health company FX Well seeks a Mobile Software Developer.
  • InfoSec company Terbium Labs is looking for a DevOps Engineer that has an interest in security, or security engineer that knows their way around an AWS console.

The Rest

Thanks for joining us this week. Stay up to date on daily job postings here, and be a pal, share with friends.

See ya on the flip side!
