Johns Hopkins’ accelerator for impact-focused entrepreneurs opened up applications for its next cohort.
The JHU Social Innovation Lab will accept up to 10 companies for the next cohort, which begins in the fall. The program is open to entrepreneurs who are Greater Baltimore residents, as well as the Johns Hopkins community.
Last year, the cohort included entrepreneurs like Shantell Young, who is looking to spread the Portable Alternative Crib to keep sleeping babies safe. She won $25,000 at the final pitch night. Brittany Young of B-360, who is looking to teach STEAM education through dirt bikes. Sunrise Health, which is using AI to improve mental health treatment, was another member.
Ventures who are accepted receive, $1,000 in funding, access to mentors through workshops and one-on-one sessions, access to office space and pro bono accounting and legal services.
