If you’re looking for inspiration for investing in a more equitable Philadelphia, join Technical.ly and Generocity at this week’s virtual Philly Forward Forum.

The Dec. 17 event will feature speakers that aim to disrupt intergenerational poverty, dismantle systemic racism and promote upward mobility in the city. Key ideas include capital mobilization and closing the racial wealth gap. By convening social impact leaders and private investors, Philly Forward Forum hopes to call attention to the many existing and potential opportunities for local investment.

Both Technically Media brands aim to highlight innovative and sustainable ways to invest in local communities: Technical.ly convenes the smartest people and organizations to help local communities thrive in the future, especially focusing on tech, entrepreneurship and innovation. Generocity writes not just about the nonprofit community in Philadelphia, but how missions are executed to generate positive social impact. Accordingly, the two will serve as media partners and sponsors for the Forum — a natural fit, aligning in mission.

While both sites have their unique perspective and communities they address, both under Technically Media have elevated their 2020 reporting on economic mobility, just recovery and racial equity in local communities. Through our journalism, we support a community of local change agents, many of whom will be featured at Philly Forward Forum.

“Technical.ly and Generocity are always looking to support other community members investing in our city,” said Technically Media VP of Philadelphia Initiatives Vincent Better. “The purpose of Philly Forward aligns closely with our work, which makes this partnership timely and intuitive.”

Technical.ly and Generocity will each have their own virtual booths, which Forum attendees can visit to explore our work and mission. Interested in attending? Register below for a day full of insight from the region’s top impact builders.

The day’s sessions will range from “4Ps: Purpose, Profit, People and Philadelphia,” which will cover a new approach to institutional investing, to “Build Back Better,” which will identify the risk factors that have contributed to marginalizing Philadelphia neighborhoods and recommend approaches going forward to accelerate wealth, health and a pathway to vibrant communities.
