Solenis made good on its 2019 commitment to Delaware when it moved its global headquarters to a new 90,000-square-foot building in Avenue North off Concord Pike in January 2020. The company specializes in chemicals for water-intensive industries with a focus on sustainable solutions, and evolved from companies including HerculesBetz LaboratoriesDrewStockhausen and Ashland Water Technologies. Approximately 350 of the company’s 5,200 employees across 120 countries work in Delaware in marketing, customer service, IT and R&D.

“Solenis touches a lot of things that you use every day but you really don’t think about,” said President and CEO John Panichella at the dedication of the new HQ. “If you’re using a Bounty towel in your home, our product gives it wet strength so that the towel holds together. If you’re blowing your nose with a tissue, our materials make that tissue softer. If you receive a package in the mail from Amazon, our products give that package strength.”

The company recently launched a new redesigned website featuring enhanced transparency into the company’s sustainability initiatives, easy-to-access product and solution information and an expanded career section.

The site also includes a new library that enables easy access to ISO and other regulatory certifications, access to safety metrics, the company’s annual sustainability report, and information on the Solenis Sustainability Award, a new annual program recognizing outstanding customer projects.

The new careers section allows potential employees to search for Solenis opportunities globally, and includes access information on internships, apprenticeships and the company’s sales technology application rotation (aka STAR) program. Currently, there are more than a dozen opportunities available in Wilmington, including team managers, lab technicians and interns.

“With easy-to-find resources and expanded access to our environmental, social and governance efforts, our new website reflects our position as a global solutions provider helping water-intensive customers manage their resources,” Panichella said in a statement. “It allows us to better showcase our innovative products and solutions, recruit the industry’s top talent and provide transparency into our commitment to sustainable growth.”
