With so many businesses closed or transitioned to takeout or online only due to the COVID-19 lockdown, it’s hard to know which small businesses are up and running in any capacity.
The Delaware Division of Small Business is trying to make that easier, with an online mapping tool that shows open grocery stores, restaurants (takeout only), breweries, coffee shops, services and businesses that are open for online shopping and services.
So far, there are nearly 450 businesses listed.

The map uses color-coded icons for each industry. To toggle the layers by industry, click on the arrow in the to right and uncheck the industries you don’t want to see. It will save you the time and hassle of calling around to find an open auto parts shop (Auto Plus in Dover) or sewing supply store (Sew What! in Wilmington) — though, of course, you should call or check the businesses social media for updates on status.
The online-only section includes some hidden gems you might not have considered. Did you know Frank Family Karate Plus is now offering online classes? Or that you can take didactic SCUBA classes online with Delaware SCUBA that prepares you to complete your training when the lockdown is lifted? That you can order Snyder’s Candy to ship from Rehoboth Beach, or that SqueezeBox Records is still selling, buying and trading vinyl online?
If your business is open in some capacity that is in accordance to the current social distancing requirements and it’s not on the map, contact business@delaware.gov to request to have it added.
