When and where to find Delaware SBDC’s free small biz workshops

Here’s a tip for Delawareans who are thinking about starting a small business: Did you know the Small Business Development Center in Delaware has free workshops, consulting and one-on-one biz advising?

Workshops take place monthly in Newark, Dover and Georgetown (plus two this month in Greenwood), and cover topics such as:

  • Why business plans are important no matter what type of business you start
  • The requirements that banks will have for financing, should you need it
  • What steps are needed to establish a business in Delaware
  • Developing a timeline to get your business opened
  • What resources are available to help

All you have to do is register — again, it’s free — and carve out time from in the morning or afternoon on the dates selected.

Locations and dates through June are:

  • Newark (1 Innovation Way, Suite 300) — Feb. 13, March 19, April 9, May 14, June 11
  • Greenwood (Greenwood VFW Hall at the corner of Mill Street and Governors Avenue) — Feb. 19 and 20
  • Dover (555 South Bay Road) — Feb. 27, March 12, April 23, May 21, June 25
  • Georgetown (103 W. Pine St.) — March 18, April 15, May 20, June 17
