A June screening of “Dazed and Confused” raised some money for Wilmington’s youth.

An important correction from the folks at NextFab:

The Creative District Wilmington (Wilmington Renaissance Corporation) — whose name is on the big check in the image — is participating in the ‪‎Do More 24 DE‬ campaign to help fund the NextMakerz‬ at NextFab program. NextMakerz is a year-long membership to NextFab for neighborhood and city youth and young adults ages 16-24.
In other words, we’re the host to this awesome program (but not the ones who received this generous check).

We regret the error. Original story below. (Updated 7/21/17, 11:15 a.m.)

Wilmington’s newest makerspace is benefitting from some charitable moviegoing.
NextFab scored a $2,560 donation from Movies on Tap, a nonprofit that hosts beer and film nights at Penn Cinema on the Riverfront. The donation will support NextFab’s NextMakerz program, which gives young adults from the city of Wilmington access to digital skills training.
The movie that brought in the big bucks for NextFab? Richard Linklater’s 1993 classic Dazed and ConfusedAlright, alright, alright.
