You can’t watch football anymore without getting ad-blasted by fantasy sports betting sites like FanDuel and DraftKings every five minutes. For fantasy football betters in Delaware, those ads might soon be like watching a Wawa commercial in Montana. Kind of.
Following recent regulatory moves made by Nevada to ban fantasy sports betting, Delaware is looking into the legality of sites like FanDuel and DraftKings under state law. The investigation is being led by Delaware Finance Secretary Tom Cook.
“We’ve obviously been following all of the events that have been going on surrounding this,” Cook told the News Journal. “When Nevada made the first move to shut down the sites, we felt that it was our obligation to certainly understand their reasoning behind it.”
