Seed accelerator program Techstars has a new managing director for its Future of Longevity Accelerator. Previous global accelerator leader Keith Camhi will take over the DC-based program, which supports innovators with elder care products.

Techstars partnered with Melinda Gates’ Pivotal Ventures in 2020 to begin the accelerator program. As a member of the “sandwich generation” — which is the generation of people that are bringing up their own children while caring for aging parents — Camhi said he’s passionate about closing some of the gaps in the U.S. caregiving structure after experiencing them himself (FYI, applications for the accelerator open today).

Prior to his work with Techstars, Camhi founded health and fitness tech startups FitLinxx and Great Play, raising over $50 million in venture funding.

There are a pair of promotions at the government-facing subsidiary of consulting firm Accenture to pass along.

Chris Bjornson has been named cloud practice lead at Accenture Federal Services, and was promoted from the role of chief information officer.

Accenture said that Bjornson will head the expansion of cloud practice at the company, which includes asset development, go-to-market and talent across the company. Bjornson will support cloud technology for Accenture’s customer base, which includes defense intelligence and public safety agencies in the federal goverment. Ben Peavy, who previously served as Accenture’s San Antonio managing director, will take over Bjornson’s spot as CIO.

Accenture Federal Services counts Arlington, Virginia, as one of its primary hubs, and it operates a digital studio in D.C. Last month, Technical.ly reported that Accenture and partner Aon would be expanding its apprenticeship program to create 1000 new jobs by 2025.

Fairfax, Virginia-based software development firm 3Pillar Global just launched the 3Pillar Global Advisory Council, a group of digital and innovation leaders to discuss market trends and opportunities. The council already held its first meeting last month and will continue to meet virtually three times a year.

“Over the course of more than a decade serving a diverse portfolio of companies, we’ve seen how important, but rare, it is for digital innovators to share the lessons they’ve learned with their peers in other industries,” said David DeWolf, CEO of 3Pillar. “The Advisory Council is closing this gap and powering greater innovation by bringing together some of the best and brightest minds in business transformation in a dedicated space for us to learn from one another.”

The news of the accelerator follows an April announcement that the company would be acquiring Software Development Europe as part of a larger overseas expansion plan.
