Reston, Virginia-based FrontStream, provider of a suite of products for nonprofits and corporations looking to raise funds securely, partnered with health activation and engagement company MoveSpring to launch a virtual fitness fundraising tool earlier this month.
According to a recent survey conducted by the Nonprofit Finance Fund, 75% of nonprofits are experiencing a reduction in earned revenue thanks to COVID-19. FrontStream launched the new product for those impacted organizations as they work to reach financial goals.
Organizations that had planned in-person fundraising events, such as walks and 5Ks, can use the new peer-to-peer platform to move them online and track activity. The solution, designed to drive engagement and donations through gamification, will be offered through FrontStream’s digital platform, Panorama. Users can also create new virtual fundraising events through the platform.
“Prior to COVID-19, online fundraising and DIY events were quickly emerging as a leading technique for innovative nonprofits to engage with current donors as well as reach previously untapped groups of givers. Now, it is practically essential to their survival,” said FrontStream CTO Terry LoPresti in a statement. “It’s rewarding to be able to provide nonprofits a solution to help them navigate this challenging time and continue to further their mission.”
Chicago-based MoveSpring helped sync the tool with fitness trackers, including access through wearable devices and smartphones.
“Exercise plays a vital role in both physical and mental wellness, which is even more critical during stressful times,” said MoveSpring cofounder and COO Anthony Knierim. “Partnering with FrontStream enables us to not only help nonprofits continue their fundraising efforts and drive donations, but to also promote health and community engagement while social distancing.”
