These DMV tech companies are ranked high on Inc. mag’s new biz growth list

As part of its inaugural Inc. 5000 Series, the magazine published a list of the 250 fastest-growing private companies in the DMV and Delaware regions.

As part of its inaugural Inc. 5000 Series, Inc. magazine published a list of the 250 fastest-growing private companies in the DMV and Delaware regions.

The rankings were based on revenue increase between 2016 and 2018. These companies combined saw a two-year total revenue growth of 106%, amounting to a collective $6.5 billion in 2018. Inc. reported that the companies featured on this list also added 41,000 jobs between 2016 and 2018. Companies span sectors including government services, software, telecommunications, energy, IT management and more.

Baltimore-based Chasen Construction and Development, a luxury real estate group that revitalizes historic buildings, took first place on the list, showing a revenue growth of 3,671%.

Union Market-based Advoc8 snagged the second spot on the list, showing a 2,183% revenue growth. Founded in 2016, Advoc8 is a full-service creative agency that specializes in social impact and issue advocacy. The agency offers services for events and experiences, design, video, strategy and brand merchandise.

Not following too far behind in the #4 spot is Georgetown-based Radius Networks, a nine-year-old company that provides businesses with a machine-learning platform to help them conduct location-based transactions with customers. Radius Networks showed a 1,709% growth in revenue.

Further down the list, software development company WillowTree ranked #100, showing 121% growth in revenue. The Charlottesville, Virginia-based company develops apps, websites and software for brands such as FOX Sports, PepsiCo, Time Warner and Wyndam Hotels.

  • Homesnap — Real estate, 564% growth, ranked #16
  • DivvyCloud — Security, 477% growth, ranked #18
  • UrbanStems — Consumer products and services, 246% growth, ranked #45
  • KLDiscovery — IT management, 182% growth, ranked #60
  • Surefire Local — Advertising and marketing, 67% growth, ranked #183
  • EveryAction — Software, 51% growth, ranked #218
  • Ntiva — IT management, 44% growth, ranked #240
