There’s no reason to go all the way to NORAD and follow Santa halfway around the globe this season.
The big guy and several elves are moving about the city on MTA’s Holiday Bus, dispatching free rides, candy canes and seasonal holiday music to commuters. The bus is out on weekdays for two weeks through Dec. 20.
While we know it’s out there, the bus route that gets the holiday treatment changes everyday. And the recently reconfigured bus routes add some more mystery. It may be on a LocalLink route one day, and a CityLink route the next.
However, this year one app has a way to find where Santa rides.
Ho-ho-holllllld that bus now, Santy Claus ✋🎅

Transit added a feature that allows users to see the bus’ location and figure out where to meet it to get onboard. According to a Medium post, it’s the result of a partnership between the Montreal-based public transportation company and MTA.
This isn’t the first time Transit brought some benevolence to Baltimore transit. The company added Baltimore bus tracking data to its app after civic hackers opened it up in 2015 when they were dissatisfied with MTA’s own offering. A new bus tracker was rolled out as part of the bus system’s BaltimoreLink revamp in June.
