Who’s getting funded?
LeadCloud raised $1.05 million in equity, according to an SEC filing. The Ellicott City firm runs a cloud-based platform that allows buyers, sellers and service providers to track, manage and optimize leads.
Johns Hopkins University and four other universities are joining to form the Center for Encrypted Functionalities with help from a $5 million National Science Foundation grant, The Baltimore Sun reports. The center will explore ways to hide systems’ inner workings from hackers.
Who’s making moves?
The Chesapeake Regional Tech Council named new leadership last week: Sidus Data CEO Jason Silva will be the group’s president with Mindgrub Technologies CEO Todd Marks as vice president.
City Councilman Bill Cole was appointed last week as the new president of the Baltimore Development Corporation, as Technical.ly Baltimore reported. Cole expects to start in September.
Mary “Mollie” Spilman, Millennial Media’s executive vice president of global sales and operations, is resigning effective Aug. 15, the Baltimore Business Journal reports. She joins board member Alan MacIntosh, leaving at month’s end, and CFO Michael Avon, who left in June.
