Six weeks ago, Technical.ly started publishing Open Data PGH, a joint reporting project with nonprofit news site PublicSource on open data trends in Pittsburgh.
Now that we’re in the groove of things, we think it’s time Philly sees what we’ve been up to.
The series is comprised of weekly original reporting on local civic tech — think Code for Pittsburgh and data sets published by the Western Pennsylvania Regional Data Center — plus a weekly newsletter featuring curated links about all things tech in the 412.

Yes, Pittsburgh is a five-hour drive and approximately 300 miles from Philadelphia. But there are enough similarities between Pennsylvania’s two largest cities, and specifically their burgeoning tech scenes with active groups of civic-minded technologists, that it’s worth keeping tabs on each other. (Plus, hello, Amazon HQ2.)
