The Thanksgiving season is a time for gathering with those close to us and appreciating what we have, so if you’re grateful to have a supportive local tech community, get out there and celebrate it this month.

In case you’re not sure what opportunities are available, this roundup contains something for everyone, from technologists looking to stay up on industry trends to entrepreneurs seeking resources and advice. Whether you prefer virtual webinars or networking in-person, you’ll be thankful to find others in your community with the knowledge and connections to help you achieve your goals.

  • Biotech Jobs Fair — “BioLabs Philadelphia and BioStrategy Partners are excited to announce the first-ever Ecosystem-Wide Biotech Jobs Fair, set for November 19th from 3:30-7:00 PM at the historic Curtis Atrium at 6th and Walnut. This groundbreaking event, co-hosted by a growing list of the top regional life science organizations, aims to connect local biotech talent with leading employers in the greater Philadelphia area. The Jobs Fair will serve as a platform for pre-screened biotech candidates to network with hiring managers from top employers and explore career opportunities in the life sciences sector. Attendees can participate in engaging lightning panels that highlight various scientific and adjacent career pathways, featuring insights from industry experts.” In partnership with University City Science Center.

  • Zip Code Virtual Admissions Session — “Get information about both 12-week programs during this session. Our Candidate Recruiter will cover the curriculum, financial assistance, job placement and more! Zip Code Wilmington now offers two 12-week immersive coding programs! The Java bootcamp teaches object-oriented programming with a focus on Java, one of the most in-demand and highest paying programming languages in the country. The Data Engineering and Analytics bootcamp focuses on data engineering methods and processes, database setup, and R programming with an introduction to Python. Both programs are held Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm (Tuesdays & Thursdays are 8am-5pm). There are also required evening sessions 1-2 nights a week.” Hosted by Zip Code Wilmington.
  • PitchMasters — “At this virtual, workshop-style event, companies seeking to become ‘pitch-perfect’ will present their investor decks to the group and receive feedback to help refine their pitch before they go in front of investors. This is a great opportunity for companies to get ready for that ‘ask.’ Founders receive 6 minutes to pitch and 5 minutes of feedback.” Hosted by NEXT powered by Shulman Rogers.
  • TEDCO’s Investment Open Forum — “Come to the Open Forum to discuss topics related to venture capital investing and learn more about the TEDCO Investment Funds.” Hosted by TEDCO.
  • PCIV Showcase at Pennovation Works — “In celebration of its 14 years of service to the Penn community, PCI Ventures is bringing together a diverse group of entrepreneurs, faculty members, investors, and industry leaders for an evening of education and networking. The Showcase will feature companies from PCI Ventures’ portfolio alongside Pennovation Works member companies.” Hosted by Penn Center for Innovation.
