Web dev shop SmartLogic searching for new office space [Startup Roundup]

who’s getting funded?

Intrexon Corporation, based in Germantown, has raised $150 million in equity, according to SEC filings. The biotechnology company focuses on synthetic biology and produces “complex multigenic systems,” according to its website.

who’s making moves?

Canton-based web and mobile development firm SmartLogic Solutions is on the hunt for a 2,000-square-foot office space in Canton, Fells Point or Federal Hill. Presently based inside the Emerging Technology Center on Boston Street, SmartLogic intends to move out before the ETC’s Boston Street office relocates in the fall.
Members of President Obama‘s advance team visited Federal Hill incubator Betamore two weeks ago as a potential stop for the president prior to his visit to Baltimore last week. Obama was in Baltimore on Friday promoting his jobs agenda.
VisiSonics is looking for $750,000 in angel funding. The startup, based in College Park, creates products and applications for 3D sound capture and analysis, and was named the inaugural winner of a $5,000 grant through the University of Maryland Ventures prize.
