Kismet launched its first location, in Chestnut Hill, back in 2017.

Homegrown coworking brand Kismet will today open up the doors to its third location, a 13,000-square-foot hub in Manayunk, inside what used to be a local Pottery Barn.

The renovated two-story location at 4230 Main S. features 17 private offices, 46 designated desks and 72 additional workspaces; in addition to multipurpose event spaces, lounge areas, conference rooms, two kitchens and an “entertainment bunker.”

“Kismet is excited to be joining a successful commercial district which is home to hundreds of independent and community-minded businesses and organizations,” the company said in an emailed statement.

In the spring of 2017, real estate agent Christopher Plant opened up the company’s first spot in Chestnut Hill, a 6,000-square-foot hub with an initial group of 11 members. Back then he described Kismet as a way to offer a “more intimate coworking model on the fringes of traditional business districts and quasi-suburban commercial districts.”

By the following year, Kismet’s second location — an equally sized hub — went live in Callowhill.

The company will host a grand opening party tonight (Friday) from 5 to 9 p.m at the new space, which has been in the works since the spring of 2018.
