We blinked and missed this one.
In the last year, venture-backed mobile banking startup Moven has built a product team of 40 out in Radnor. We told you about CTO Bob Savino’s plans to open the Radnor office last fall. Moven’s headquarters are in New York, but the bulk of the company is in the Philly region (Moven employs 68). Now Moven is gearing up for more expansion.
The company just closed a $12 million Series B led by Alexandria, Va.-based Route 66 Ventures, with participation from Anthemis Group, Atlas Asset Management, NY Angels and Jim Palotta of Raptor Group.
A spokeswoman said she couldn’t disclose hiring projections but that the company is hiring, including for its Philly office at the Radnor Corporate Center. Moven posted six positions on the Technical.ly Jobs Board on Monday:
- Digital Business Analyst
- Full-Stack Engineer
- Data Scientist
- Senior Mobile Engineer
- Scrum Master
- Service Delivery Analyst
Moven is one of a handful of New York-based tech companies with product teams in the region, like Drama Fever and Vistar Media. Moven opened a local office because of Savino’s ties to the region — he lives in Malvern and didn’t want to move to New York — but also because it made business sense.
It’s good to be a big fish in a small pond, Savino told us last year. Plus, it’s cheaper to grow a tech team here.
Current Philly Moven employees have come from companies like PointRoll, Delaware’s BarclayCardUS and LiquidHub.
