Boston-based OpenView Partners, investors in NextDocs and Monetate, continued its interest in Philadelphia by investing $11.5 million in Xtium. The company, based in Valley Forge, provides cloud computing services. Xtium, of course, isn’t the first cloud computing company in the ‘burbs looking for a big exit. As we reported yesterday, Ben Franklin Technology Partners and the Philadelphia Media Network are currently accepting applications for its “Project Liberty” incubator. The companies will be announced on Halloween. The incubator, funded through a $250,000 grant from the Knight Foundation, will also be the topic of Osberg’s talk at Mobile Monday this month.
