The Maryland Tech Council is bringing a gathering of Mid-Atlantic companies and organizations working in life sciences, health IT and tech to Baltimore this month.
The Bio+Tech18 Conference will be held at the Hilton Baltimore on September 20. It’s the third edition of the daylong event.
According to organizers, the event includes a dozen sessions, ranging in topics from gene therapy to new kinds of cancer treatment to virtual reality and robotics.
“As the life sciences and technology industries continue to advance, the Bio+Tech18 Conference agenda has evolved with relevant tracks on the latest trends in these two integrating sectors,” Rene LaVigne, Maryland Tech Council Chairman and CEO of Iron Bow Technologies, said in a statement.
Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford will kick off the event, and it will also feature a fireside chat focused on innovation with Baltimore education leaders including UMBC President Freeman Hrabowski, JHU Provost Sunil Kumar and UMB President Jay Perman, President, UMB.
To close out the event, the Maryland Tech Council organized a pitch competition. The organization received 30 applications and chose five finalists: AlgometRx, JuneBrain, Remedy Plan Therapeutics, Sonavex and VakSea.
