In 2017, Technical.ly’s Dev Conference was a multi-part event focused on the innovative tools used by experienced technologists to solve problems. Tech diversity shined with in-depth conversations and topic-specific talks led by several women, people of color and a wide range of professional talent. Two classroom-style developer introductory workshops took place as morning sessions where attendees honed in on their dev skills and took advantage of professional development. Dev Talks, giving technologists in the audience a touch of a little of everything from rapid prototyping, to security, to leveraging customer data. Attendees closed out the event with an exclusive Dev networking happy hour. For a trip down memory lane, read the recap here.

What to expect this year:

Now that we’ve refreshed, let’s take a look at what’s in store for the 2018 edition. Expect to listen to a fireside chat from a local expert, a panel to take on the human side of being a dev (we know we are all humans) and a variety of case studies on topics to the likes of machine learning, data science, cybersecurity and cloud computing. Based on the feedback from our organizing committees and from Dev Conference surveys from 2017, our team made the changes to the programming to encourage more skill and best practice sharing. That leaves plenty of room to network – which is our #1 attendee feedback request. Join us for an afternoon of content and engage with the local dev community during Baltimore Innovation Week 2018 organized by Emerging Technology Centers on Wednesday, October 10, at our annual Dev Conference!
