Lyft has a new community grant program that’s designed to give nonprofits some extra help with transportation.
With the program, the ridesharing company is offering ride credits of $1,000. The awards will be given out once a month to nonprofits that can benefit from a new way to get around.

“Each month, we’ll choose one non-profit organization that clearly states the role that transportation and mobility plays in the organization’s mission and/or operations,” Lyft states. “We will look for organizations that outline a clear and impactful usage for the $1,000 grant in Lyft credits.”

Any 501(c)(3) in Baltimore metro is eligible to apply.

Baltimore is among 24 cities where the grants are being offered. Lyft recently reported a $25 million economic impact in Baltimore for 2017. The company set up a local operations office in the city in 2016.
