iPad selfie helps police identify Patterson Park burglar

It was a case of selfie incrimination.
An iPad security feature helped police identify a person who burglarized a home on South East Avenue near Patterson Park.
Police released a photo of the suspect on Tuesday that looked like a selfie. He was quickly identified as a 19-year-old, though police did not release his name.

Police spokesman TJ Smith told WBAL-TV that the photo was taken by a feature that snaps a photo of anyone trying to break into an iPad. There are various apps that do this.
The owner saw that the photo was uploaded to iCloud, and gave it to police.

“This suspect basically left breadcrumbs basically large enough to feed a village,” Detective Donny Moses told ABC2.
Police believe the suspect may be involved in other burglaries in the area, as well.
