The MdBio Foundation is set to get a new STEM ride.
The Mobile eXploration Lab will have room for about 40 students to explore science and chemistry, as well as VR and cybersecurity.

The lab will start rolling out in 2017, and be fully operational by next school year. The foundation ran the MdBioLab in an outfitted tractor trailer since 2003, and the new edition is the next generation.
MdBio offered a sneak peek at an event held Tuesday at the University of Maryland BioPark, where about 100 students from Vivien T. Thomas Medical Arts Academy talked with companies in the STEM fields.

The Rockville-based organization also announced a $25,000 grant from AT&T this week to support the lab and other programs.
