ZeroFOX hired a pair of execs who formerly worked at well-known cybersecurity companies in San Francisco and Chicago, CEO James Foster said.
Scott O’Rourke, formerly of Chicago-based Trustwave, was named Vice President of Commercial Sales. O’Rourke led a restructuring of Trustwave’s sales strategy prior to its $770 million acquisition by Singtel.
Alex Abey was named the Federal Hill company’s Vice President of Business Development. He formerly worked at San Francisco-based mobile security firm Lookout Security, where he led efforts to establish strategic partnerships.
The hires come as the company looks to ramp up sales efforts for its social media cybersecurity products, which are designed to help companies protect against threats on social networks. ZeroFOX experienced an embarrassing episode in August when a riots-related “Crisis Management” report it had sent to the city was made public.
“With every new executive team member we hire, we move faster and move stronger,” Foster said.
Former Palo Alto Networks CEO Lane Bess, who invested in the company and became a board member last month, is another new addition who brings sales insight.
