Here’s a map of the Inner Harbor built in Minecraft

Lovers of the building game created a “hyperlocal” Baltimore server.

Realism isn't the point. (Screenshot)

A new Minecraft server appeared recently, and it’s devoted to Baltimore.
The massively popular computer game gives players the chance to have adventures and create their own worlds. A group of locals decided Baltimore needed to be represented.
Creator Edin Beslagic said the server is more about building community than recreating Baltimore. But users couldn’t resist the temptation to build the city block by block.
Behold: A Minecraft tour of the Inner Harbor.

Leave the violence at home, Beslagic said: “The #1 rule is: don’t be a jerk, which means don’t steal-raid-or-kill other players.”
Beslagic drew on past experience running the Minecraft Square server, and joining scores of servers. As a player, Beslagic has seen scores of servers go down when admins lose interest, taking days of work with them.
“So I coupled my yearning to run a server again with my personal guarantee that I’d ensure the world stays up and running,” he said. “And making it about Baltimore made sense: Baltimore is a very unique city. It’s not perfect, but we’re all very proud of it.”
To keep the conversation going, the server also has its own subreddit.
