Uber, the ridesharing service that launched in Baltimore in early 2013, introduced its uberX service to Baltimore this week with “rider zero” and Baltimore Ravens back-up quarterback Tyrod Taylor.
The base fare for a ride in uberX vehicles, which are hybrid and mid-size cars, is $3, whereas the base fares for the black cars and SUVs Uber typically uses are $7 and $14, respectively.
