Another round of Ignition Grants will be handed out at Ignite Baltimore 13 on Sept. 26 during Baltimore Innovation Week. While in the past just two grants worth up to $2,250 were available, this time four grants worth $2,500 each will be awarded.

Kate Bladow, who oversees the Ignition Grant program, said this year the additional grants and money is thanks to sponsorship by the Warnock Family Foundation. Founded in 2012, the Warnock Foundation makes donations to different social innovations in the city, including ones dealing with education and workforce development.
Watch David Warnock, founder of the Warnock Foundation and a managing member at Camden Partners private equity firm, speak at Ignite Baltimore 12:

To be eligible for an Ignition Grant, submitted projects must meet three criteria:

  1. the goal must be to make Baltimore a better place to live and work
  2. the project must be new, and not a continuation of an existing endeavor
  3. the project must be completed within six months.
Full disclosure: Ignite Baltimore 13 takes place during Baltimore Innovation Week, which is co-organized by Technical.ly Baltimore.
