Tresys Technology, a cybersecurity firm based in Columbia, has been acquired by Behrman Capital, a private equity investment firm with offices in New York City and San Francisco, according to a press release.
The core of Tresys’ technology is IT network defense and computer network security, a service it provides to both the U.S. Department of Defense and intelligence agencies.

Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, and there isn’t any word in the press release about what Behrman Capital’s purchase means for a Maryland-based company, although it doesn’t sound like Tresys is going anywhere.
“Under Behrman’s ownership, we will be able to more fully develop our sales and marketing organization, continue to expand our technology portfolio and achieve the scale to compete as a prime contractor for critical cybersecurity initiatives in government and critical infrastructure,” said Tresys CEO Gary Latham in the release.
Tresys, which has an additional office in Ashburn, Va., was named a “2012 Top Workplace” by the Baltimore Sun.

Companies: Department of Defense
