The ACTiVATE – Achieving the Commercialization of Technology in Ventures through Applied Training for Entrepreneurs – program from UMBC makes learning the ins and outs of starting a technology-based company easy for aspiring female entrepreneurs. With classes offered once a week in the evenings, on occasional Saturdays, and some online, having a full time job won’t get in the way of making a new business bloom. The training program is geared towards professionals with at least some technical or business background and includes instruction from experienced entrepreneurs and local business people.
Classes begin in February and run for one year. Women interested in applying should attend one of the information sessions and can find out more information on the ACTiVATE website. You can also keep up to date with the program on its Facebook page.
