Here’s what Philly googled in 2017

People in the U.S. asked a lot of “how to’s” this year, according to Google.

It was the overarching theme on Google’s Year in Search report for 2017. From the whimsical  (“How to make slime”) to the panicky (“How to freeze your credit”), from the practical (“How to screen record”) to the bubbly (“How to buy Bitcoin”) Google recapped the search terms that saw a spike in 2017 when compared to last year.

Though localized data on the “how to” searches was not made available, the company did release a list of the biggest search terms of the year for Philly. In keeping with the national trend, the No. 1 search term was Hurricane Irma, the catastrophic storm that caused over a hundred casualties and affected millions in Florida, Puerto Rico and many other Caribbean islands.
