Two weeks after announcing its merger with D.C.-based incubator 1776, Benjamin’s Desk — which is still sorting through the branding aspect of the merger — is hosting an open house of its first Montco spot.

Benjamin’s Desk @ Ambler Yards, also the first BD location born under a licensing model — will open its doors for the first time on Nov. 1 for a networking event that will end with a tour of the space, which will is expected to open Dec. 1.

Co-CEO Anthony Maher said he hopes the new location will bring a diverse mix of company types and industry verticals into the BD ecosystem.

“Ambler represents a new frontier for coworking and incubation in the western Philadelphia suburbs,” Maher said. “We’re excited to watch the kinds of collisions between business leaders we see at other Benjamin’s Desk / 1776 campuses throughout the region.”

The modestly-sized space, just under 3,000 square feet, is part of a larger development called Ambler Yards, a 250,000-square-foot industrial complex with 14 buildings scattered across 25 acres. About 100,000 square feet of that campus is being redeveloped into office space, including the Benjamin’s Desk location.
