Why yes, some tech companies are still hiring amid the pandemic and resulting recession.
Accordingly, Falls Church, Virginia-based Women in Technology (WIT) is hosting a virtual job fair this Thursday, June 25, from 4 to 7 p.m.
The local nonprofit aims to provide women working in tech with networking and professional development opportunities. WIT normally hosts job fairs twice a year, and this summer, it decided to take its premiere event virtual for the first time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The job fair is free for job seekers, and comes with a fee for exhibitors, which can pay for a bundle deal and exhibit at WIT’s fall job fair as well. The organization encourages attendees to register for the event ahead of Thursday so employers can view resumes in advance. During the live job fair, recruiters will have the opportunity to connect with job seekers through one-on-one chats to discuss openings. Attendees will also have a chance to choose which employers they want to interact with.
Hiring companies that will be a part of the job fair include Accenture, Excella, Amazon Web Services, ScienceLogic, Revature and a few dozen others.
