Here’s where you’ll find Yuval Yarden at Philly Tech Week

Are you ready for Philly Tech Week? It’s one of my favorite weeks of the year! The startup community has been my home since I graduated from Temple, and I love when everyone comes out to celebrate our growth! As part of the Philly Startup Leaders leadership team, I am excited to host some events and attend others. I’ll be bouncing around all week.
Community is key! It’s how you’ll find your next job, your next business partner or at least your next photo op. Don’t let this opportunity go to waste.

1. PTW Mayoral Forum

I’ve been following this year’s mayoral elections closely. I’m excited to hear what the candidates think about technology, innovation and startups. If you’d like to prepare, check out the article PBJ wrote after the tech community’s Mayoral Town Hall. I won’t be able to make it to the City Council lunch event, but I think it’s going to be a big success, as well. (Monday, April 20, 5:30-7:30 p.m.)

2. PSL Entrepreneur Expo

I absolutely can’t wait for the PSL Entrepreneur Expo! Think of Entrepreneur Expo as a trade show party, with close to 70 startups exhibiting and over 600 entrepreneurs walking through to check them out. Of course, we’ll have food trucks (and a beer truck), a sick DJ and music from Rec Philly(Wednesday, April 22, 7-10 p.m.)

3. PSLU Accelerator Demo Day

The PSLU Accelerator is one the most unique programs Philly has to offer! Demo day is our chance as a community to showcase and support the great companies that make up the 2015 cohort. We have brought together seven startups and seven top mentors  for 90 days. Join us on Tuesday April 21 for demo day to support the companies, meet the mentors and learn about PSLU programs. The entire program is run for the community, by the community. No equity or cash exchanged – just mentorship, support and connections. (Tuesday, April 21, 4:30-7:30 p.m.)

4. 4th Annual Women in Tech Summit

The Philly Women in Tech Summit is an annual event that inspires, educates and connects women in the technology industry from across the Mid-Atlantic region. I love supporting TechGirlz, and I’ll be a TA for one of their workshops. The theme this year is “Inspiring Women to take a Chance!” (Saturday, April 18, 8:45 a.m.-5 p.m.)

5. Student Startup Summit

I’m really excited about the impact Start. Stay. Grow. is making in the city and I’m looking forward to meeting more students interested in entrepreneurship in Philadelphia. I know I’ll meet them at the student summit! I’ll also be attending Be Your Own Boss Bowl at Temple and peeking into some business day events (since they are completely free for students)! (Saturday, April 25, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.)

This is a guest post by Yuval Yarden. Full disclosure: Yarden works on the Start. Stay. Grow. initiative, of which Technical.ly is a partner.
