TierPoint’s second Baltimore-area data center is up and running.
Construction wrapped up on the company’s 35,000 sq. ft. facility in BWI Technology Park earlier this month, and leaders cut the ribbon this week.

Along with room for storage and high-speed network connections, the Linthicum Heights data center has shared workspace for clients. About two-thirds of the space has raised floor, making room for wiring and cooling.
TierPoint also announced a new client with the opening: Annapolis-based Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Anne Arundel Health System Associate Chief Information Officer Saad Chaudhry indicated his team evaluated several data centers but ultimately decided Tierpoint had the “perfect menu” of offerings.
“Geographic location was also a large factor for us. TierPoint’s new facility is far enough away from the Center to be valuable in the event of a disaster, but close enough for us to coordinate activities fluidly,” Chaudhry said in a statement.
St. Louis–based TierPoint revealed plans for the new data center last year, citing growing demand. The company also has a data center near M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore city, which it upgraded in 2016.
