Zest Tea has a new offering of its high-octane tea.
The Carroll Camden–based startup is canning its caffeinated tea, and it’s now available as a sparkling drink.
Founder James Fayal said the offering is the result of a year of work. The “Zest Tea 2.0” line is debuting Wednesday on Product Hunt.

Zest Tea aims to offer a tea that can be an alternative to coffee. The three flavors offered are Citrus Hibiscus, Pomito Lime and Masala Chai.
“All of the blends have as much caffeine as a strong cup of coffee, but also contain ~100 mg of L-Theanine, an amino acid shown to have a synergistic relationship with caffeine and produce a more steady alertness that lasts for hours,” Fayal wrote on Product Hunt. It’s got 25 calories, and five grams of sugar per can.
The company started when Fayal was a Venture for America fellow in Philly. He later moved to Baltimore, and has been operating out of the Wicomico Building. The first product was bagged teas, and Wednesday marks the fist new offering since launch.
