Zuckerberg went to Iron Hill for a meeting with UD’s Disaster Research Center

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who is taking the stand Tuesday in Delaware’s Chancery Court (and was sighted on the Riverfront yesterday), used his free day in Wilmington Monday to meet with experts from the University of Delaware’s Disaster Research Center (DRC) and community leaders at Iron Hill Brewery.

Facebook has long been a tool used by families and communities when disaster strikes, and has added tools specifically for use during a crises, such as Safety Check and Community Help. This month, as hurricanes ravaged the south, Facebook consolidated its crisis tools into one spot called called Crisis Response.
The meeting was part of Zuckerberg’s 2017 challenge to meet with people in all 50 states. According to UDaily, the DRC caught Zuckerberg’s attention after it spotlighted directors Tricia Wachtendorf and James Kendra in a Facebook Live broadcast between hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
