DinnerTime has a new partnership to offer its meal-planning app to educators.
The three-year-old startup joined up with the American Federation of Teachers, which will offer the app to 1.6 million teachers and other education professionals in the union’s membership.
DinnerTime has a tool that shows personalized sales at local grocery stores, allowing shoppers to save on cost and time. Planning ahead is key to healthier eating, the startup’s cofounders said. The AFT offering also allows members to find unionized grocery stores through a marker within the app that says “Union Yes!” A separate feature in partnership with the American Heart Association announced earlier this year also shows a “Heart Healthy” check next to some items.
“The AFT is deeply committed to supporting our members in their busy 24-7 lives,” said Loretta Johnson, Secretary-Treasurer of the AFT. “Bringing state-of- the-art services to our members strengthens families and communities, and is directly aligned with our mission and goals.”
