UD Horn extends helping hand with new ‘Startup Launchpad’ program

In teaming up with the Delaware Small Business Development Center and the Delaware Founders Initiative, the university's entrepreneurship arm is looking to help Wilmington startups thrive.

An aptly named accelerator has just been announced, the Delaware Startup Launchpad is the Horn Program in Entrepreneurship’s newest initiative with the Delaware Small Business Development Center and the Delaware Founders Initiative.
The program will explore the methods of building a lean startup in five three-hour workshops. It’s geared towards non-student startups looking to validate their business models and will only accept eight teams.
This is only one of the many ways Horn is working to connect with local startups and help them grow.
What sets this one apart? There’s a cash prize involved for the top teams: $5,000.
It’s free to apply but a program fee of $399 is required upon acceptance.
The workshops will be hosted in Wilmington, shuffling between 1313 Innovation, The Mill and Start It Up Delaware’s coIN Loft. But here’s the thing, the application deadline is in less than two weeks, on Oct. 2. So if you’re interested in applying, you should start working on your application soon.
