Downtown Brooklyn community laboratory Genspace is offering a workshop on making guide RNAs next month. Guide RNAs are key players in the world of RNA editing.
The workshop is a prerequisite for Genspace’s upcoming, hands-on lab session on genome engineering.
“In this no-nonsense introductory workshop you will learn about all of the recent technical advances of this system, including Cas9 variants and how to design optimal guide RNA sequences and targeting constructs for homologous recombination using online resources to help plan your experiments,” Genspace writes in its event listing. “You will leave with a well-designed sequence for a guide RNA of your own choosing, ready to send out for synthesis.”
Right. Solid. Let’s do this.
Tickets are available for sale now, we’re told. (Don’t mind this sold out listing for a March 5 event.) Per an email to Technical.ly, Saturday, March 19 is the real deal and the listing should be updated soon. Tickets are $30.
